Additional services
These services are mainly offered to translation agencies.
Editing and proofreading services are also available to freelance translators.
For machine translation, I work with agencies as a post-editor and with MT developers as an annotator to improve MT systems.
Review
Revision is the bilingual examination of the translated document and original document to check that the translation is faithful, that nothing has been misunderstood, that there is no unnecessary additions or omissions, to make sure that the terminology is consistent and that there are no spelling, syntax or grammar mistakes.
Proofreading
Proofreading is the monolingual examination of a document translated by a professional to assess its factual and linguistic accuracy , and to verify its suitability for the agreed purpose.
Post-editing
Post-editing is the revision, correction andoptimization of a pre-translated text by an automatic translation engine. It can be used to process large volumes of text within tight deadlines. However, post-editing is not suitable for all types of text, and is only of interest for large volumes.
